Arrangementet blev afholdt på Danmarks Rederiforenings hovedkontor i København for at hædre kongresmedlem Hoyers bidrag til klubbens 102-årige historie med at fremme samarbejde og gode relationer mellem Danmark og USA.

Kongresmedlem Hoyer var en del af en todelt delegation af otte medlemmer af det amerikanske hus og en amerikansk senator, som også besøgte Tyskland og Polen for at diskutere den aktuelle humanitære og politiske krise i Europa.

Repræsentant for det globale shipping-investeringsselskab var Stephen Schueler, formand for American Club Denmark og formand for European Maritime, Mads Sørensen, Chief Operating Officer, og Torben Bager, bestyrelsesrådgiver. EMF.

Hr. Schueler bød delegationen til København velkommen og fremhævede, hvordan kongresmedlem Hoyer, hvis far var dansk, har været en vigtig tilhænger af Danmark i USA, idet han jævnligt mødtes med danske parlamentarikere og embedsmænd, når han besøgte Washington.
