Atlas and EMF strike again with fresh suezmax newbuildings in South Korea

Copenhagen, Denmark, June 10th, 2024 – European Maritime Finance (EMF) announces an extended partnership with Atlas Maritime, and a continued commitment with DH Shipbuilding in Korea to construct the 7th and 8th Suezmax tankers. The order marks the 20th and 21st joint new build projects undertaken by EMF and Atlas Maritime, of which 17 have been placed with DH Shipbuilding. 

Tradewinds, the leading maritime publication, highlights the importance of the new Suezmax tanker order, join the existing six vessels already in the production pipeline, bringing the total to eight sister vessels. The new vessels have the following sustainability features: dual-fuel capability, LNG readiness, and Eco-class designation, these vessels demonstrate the commitment of EMF and Atlas Maritime to lead the industry in environmentally conscious shipping practices.

Additionally, EMF has achieved a significant milestone by obtaining its license as an Alternative Investment Fund Manager (AIFM) from the Danish Financial Supervisory Authority, reinforcing its position as an innovative and trusted financial services provider in the maritime industry.
