The rates in oil tank in the two largest classes are weekening further, while Aframax is stable. This looks like the tendency for the next couple of weeks. On the other hand, there is reason for optimism regarding scrapping due to the larger appetite for tonnage from the ship recyclers in the East, which creates a potential for higher scrap prices.

Dry Bulk

The bloodbath in Capesize continues, where the rates for an Eco Scrubber Ship was approximately 10.400 dollars a day last week. This is very weak compared to previous levels. This correlates with the massive rainfall in Brazil, which has toned down the demand for cargo in the area. The rates are falling marginally in the smaller segments but keeps relatively stable.
