European Maritime Finance (EMF) Deepens Long-Standing Partnership with Atlas Maritime, Embarking on the Construction of the 5th and 6th Suezmax Tankers with DH Shipbuilding in Korea

Copenhagen, Denmark, November 24th – Building on a robust history of collaboration, European Maritime Finance (EMF) proudly announces an extended partnership with Atlas Maritime, cementing a commitment with DH Shipbuilding in Korea to construct two cutting-edge Suezmax tankers. This landmark initiative marks the 19th and 20th joint new build projects undertaken by EMF and Atlas Maritime, of which 15 have been placed with DH Shipbuilding. The two vessels, Tromsoe Star and Arctic Star, are set to be delivered in May and June of 2026, respectively.

EMF’s decision to fortify its presence in the Suezmax tanker market is a testament to the enduring success of its alliance with Atlas Maritime and the compelling market dynamics. The partnership, now spanning a decade, has consistently delivered vessels that embody the latest advancements, and this commitment continues with the addition of Tromsoe Star and Arctic Star.

The forthcoming Suezmax tankers join the existing four vessels already in the production pipeline, bringing the total to six sister vessels. Distinguished by their sustainability features, dual-fuel capability, LNG readiness, and Eco-class designation, these vessels exemplify the shared commitment of EMF and Atlas Maritime to lead the industry in environmentally conscious shipping practices.

Time Magazine recently recognized EMF for its global leadership in sustainable shipping investments, further validating the long-standing partnership’s dedication to advancing environmentally friendly practices in the maritime sector. Additionally, EMF has achieved a significant milestone by obtaining its license as an Alternative Investment Fund Manager (AIFM) from the Danish Financial Supervisory Authority, reinforcing its position as an innovative and trusted financial services provider in the maritime industry.

“We are thrilled to embark on our 19th and 20th joint venture with Atlas Maritime. This milestone not only reinforces our enduring partnership but also highlights our collective commitment to delivering state-of-the-art vessels that meet the highest standards of sustainability and innovation. EMF, in collaboration with Atlas Maritime and DH Shipping, remains dedicated to setting new benchmarks in the maritime industry,” commented Martin Haugaard, CEO at EMF.
